Terms of Service

    Last updated: March 2026

    1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using LiftLinx ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These terms apply to all users including customers and engineers.

    2. Service Description

LiftLinx is a capacity platform. We help lift companies fulfil work when their internal resources aren't available, by giving them access to verified independent lift engineers. We act as an intermediary and do not directly provide engineering services, and we do not compete with the companies who use the Platform. Engineers listed on our platform are independently certified professionals who carry out work on behalf of the client company, not on behalf of the building owner or occupier.

    3. Customer Ownership & Customer Protection Guarantee

Your customers remain your customers. LiftLinx never markets directly to them or solicits future work.

    • LiftLinx will never contact a client's customers, building owners or occupiers to market services or solicit future work.
    • LiftLinx will never compete with the client's business. We do not sell, tender for or deliver lift services in our own name.
    • Engineers engaged through the Platform work for the client company. The client remains the contracting party with, and owner of the relationship with, the building owner or occupier.
    • Building owner and site contact details are disclosed to an engineer only where operationally necessary to complete the job, and only to the extent required. Clients may limit what is shown.
    • Our commercial incentives are aligned with yours: we earn only when clients continue to use the Platform, so our interest is in helping you retain your customers.

    4. Non-Circumvention

    • Engineers agree not to bypass the LiftLinx platform to provide services directly to customers introduced through LiftLinx for a period of 12 months from the date of the last booking involving that customer.
    • This includes soliciting, accepting or performing work — directly or through a third party or connected entity — for a client company or an end customer first introduced via the Platform, outside the Platform.
    • Engineers must not use contact details, site information or customer data obtained through the Platform for marketing, solicitation or off-platform engagement.
    • Clients and engineers may agree to work together off-platform only with LiftLinx's prior written consent, which may be subject to an introduction fee.
    • Breach of this clause may result in immediate account suspension or termination, and LiftLinx reserves the right to recover losses, including the booking fees it would reasonably have earned.
    • This clause does not apply to customers with whom the engineer had a documented, pre-existing relationship before the introduction was made through the Platform.

    5. Account Responsibilities

    • You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
    • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
    • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
    • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

    6. Booking, Confirmation & Cancellation

    • Bookings are subject to engineer availability and confirmation.
    • Once an engineer proposes an ETA (estimated time of arrival) and estimated duration of work, the client will be asked to approve or reject the proposed schedule.
    • By approving an engineer's ETA and estimated duration, the client confirms the booking and is bound by these Terms of Service, including all payment, cancellation, and liability provisions herein.
    • If a client rejects the proposed ETA, the booking returns to pending status and the engineer may submit a revised proposal.
    • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid charges.
    • A cancellation fee may apply for late cancellations.
    • A £50 cancellation charge applies if a booking is cancelled after the engineer has confirmed.
    • LiftLinx reserves the right to cancel or reschedule bookings due to unforeseen circumstances, in which case no fee will apply.

    7. Payment Terms & Booking Fees

    Booking fee disclosure

LiftLinx charges the client a booking fee calculated as a percentage of the final job value for every booking made through the platform. The rate depends on the client's active subscription plan:

    • PAYG (no monthly fee) — 12% booking fee per booking
    • Standard (£69/month) — 8% booking fee per booking
    • Pro (£199/month) — 5% booking fee per booking

The applicable rate and estimated fee amount are shown to the client at the ETA approval step before a booking is confirmed. The fee is charged on the final job value once work is completed, and will change if the actual job value differs from the estimate. Changing subscription plan changes the fee rate applied to bookings confirmed from that point onwards.

Subscription plans apply to clients only. Engineers are not charged any subscription, listing or ranking fee to use the platform.

    • All prices, including booking fees, are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.
    • Payment terms and pricing for the work itself are agreed between the client and engineer via the platform's messaging system.
    • Payment is due upon completion of work unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.
    • Accepted payment methods include bank transfer, credit/debit card, purchase order (subject to credit approval), and cash.
    • Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

    8. Work Agreements

    • All work scope, pricing, and terms are agreed between the client and engineer via the platform's built-in messaging system.
    • Agreements may be revised if the scope of work changes after initial assessment, with both parties' consent.
    • Clients should ensure they are satisfied with the agreed terms before the engineer commences work.

    9. Liability & Insurance

    • All engineers are independently certified and carry professional indemnity and public liability insurance.
    • LiftLinx acts as an intermediary and is not liable for any damage, injury, or loss arising from engineering work performed.
    • Our total liability to you shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific service in question.
    • Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

    10. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to:

    • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
    • Submit false or misleading information.
    • Attempt to circumvent security measures.
    • Harass, abuse, or discriminate against engineers or other users.
    • Submit fraudulent reviews or ratings.

    11. Reviews & Content

    • Reviews must be honest, factual, and relate to a genuine service experience.
    • We reserve the right to remove reviews that are defamatory, fraudulent, or violate these terms.
    • By submitting a review, you grant LiftLinx a non-exclusive licence to display it on the platform.

    12. Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please read our Privacy Policy.

    13. Account Termination

    • You may delete your account at any time via your Profile Settings.
    • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
    • Upon deletion, all personal data will be permanently erased in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

    14. Dispute Resolution

We encourage resolving disputes through our internal process first by contacting support@liftlinx.com. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be subject to mediation before legal proceedings. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

    15. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
